Rumors spread about Zeluf having moved at last. The Famers left their Home Quickly, some say they were overburden by Roland's leave, having to rely on Exterior aid. Others mention a somber tales, that perhaps the Neuri took them, the more supersticious ones dare even mention it was the doings of Fanton Griswald himself. The cattle was given away to a friend, no one seems knows where they went.

As dawn breach the darkness of the night, the farmers of the eastern outskirts of the village of Barovia awake to a carnage, most of their animals dead from horrible charring, the grass around them showing signs of scorching but no burned wood can be seen anywhere, the little surviving animals are horribly burned as well and horrified. A terrible scent of burned meat and ashes floats about the air. Some whispers of sightings of a small man in brown robe tossing fire from his hands in the night.

A massacre few dare speak of occurred at the Eastern Farmlands at the Village of Barovia. Fellow soldiers keep the nature of the crimes hidden from the locals they grew up with to prevent them further grief, suffice to say; the cause was perhaps one of the most vicious bloodthirsty Neuri the Village has ever seen. The number of casualties Of what some call the Red Night is estimated to be in the one dozen in a few hours.

Most of the soldiers arrived first in the crime scene have not been seen on duty in the days after, some mention unspeakable horrors.

Strange happenings have started to escalate recently.  Things have began to go missing.  At first it was simple things.  Firewood.  Tools.  Then it was grain.  Skins.  Livestock.  Children.

At first it was speculated that there were some errant vandals, or bandits.  Some credited the horrible, bloated man-creatures that stalk the moors.  When people started to go missing however, it was the Neuri that was blamed.  For the last week, the problem had grown progressively worse until the perpetrators finally reared their ugly white heads from the boil of suspicion.

A group of no less than three, but no more than seven brazenly attacked the Outer Farmlands, slaughtering all that would stand in their wake.  The large humanoid creatures dressed themselves in animal skins, and rusted piecemail armor.  They brought fire, vraja, and a furvor that would not be supressed.   Survivors of the attack were found muttering about the "calibans" and their horrific screeching as they took all the peasants had, including their lives.  The screeching and howling was described as a noise akin to a bear mauling a boar.

Nearly a dozen of the Burgomaster's guardsmen were slain, along with at least double that in Gundarakite laborers and wayward Outlanders who had been passing through town.  Some of the bodies were taken, so it was impossible to get an accurate headcount of the damage.  The attackers were repelled before getting too far into the village, but the few monsters they were managed to leave their mark before they were chased into the forests surrounding the bog.

The symbol of a great unblinking eye was found wherever they had strewn carnage.  Drawn in blood, scratched in the dirt, smeared in mud.  This mark has been seen everywhere that the creatures have been.  Veterans of a similar attack close to last year remember the symbol, and they are certain it was the same creatures.  Why they have returned is a mystery, but speculators presume it to be some kind of ritual, since it was around this time last year that they first attacked.

In the midst of the night, some of the locals might whisper that their loved animals were peculiarly quiet.  Others might whisper not of the silence, but of a spine chilling, cold shrills of laughter echoing through the dense air.  Those curious enough to look might have seen a well concealed figure, likely a woman based on her height and dark, hazy slender frame, tenderly dipping her hands into the pooled blood like a quill to ink before massaging the blood into her skin in swift well practiced motion before disappearing into the night.   The bodies of the local farm animals are left sloppily butchered and stray bits of blood napped fur, roughly cut flesh, and nicked bones cover the blood stained ground.  A large pile of energy drained remains rests untouched in the far corner, and the heads of each creature slain is placed neatly around it as if for a ritual.

Farmers and peasents are heard speaking of a large black furred beast skalking the farmlands last night. Many of the locals are reminded to double check and bar windows and doors come sunset.

"By Ladul, these Savus are a troublesome lot! Nu only that nu bun for nothing Barbat Savu brought along outlander and Vallaki scum for his sunkissing shenanigans in their Sanctuary, but after the so-called service of his, he went back to the Savu farmstead and argued in public as usual with his son, that brute of a man, Petre. As if any unu cares what that family of vagrants be up to!

After a couple hours of yelling and loud grumbling, the old coot loaded a pack mule with iron chains, hemp rope and nails (?) and stormed back to the Sanctuary, scowling and giving the evil eye to anyone he met. The nerve, nu greeting properly his neighbours! Mind my words, that sunkisser has lost it!"

Laborers that glance to the forests tell of a small silver dog of sorts sprinting about the trees. Some might even tell of it attempting to stand on two feet. It must have been too hot to think straighg . That or vraja. Never underestimate vraja. Give me a beer.

Rumours spread of Camp Dhelt being dismantled after a certain visit from the village guards, the inhabitants of Camp Dhelt seem to disappear into the village for a little while before emerging once again to dismantle the camp themselves. During the night, the former inhabitants of Camp Dhelt are seen moving into the village of Barovia once again however this time under the cover of darkness and emerge from it almost a full day later, returning back west towards Vallaki.
