I wanted to update everyone in the community regarding a recent change to our DM team. As of tonight/this morning, DM Despot has stepped down from their role as dungeon master. In the interest of transparency, without divulging anything private, I can assure everyone that the parting is simply a desired break from the rigors of DMing and nothing negative whatsoever. With this announcement, I’d like to take the opportunity to offer our sincerest gratitude to DM Despot and all that they contributed to the team and the server during their tenure.
Despot was (and still is!) an absolute delight to collaborate and work with. They exhibit an infectious enthusiasm, positive mindset, unparalleled passion for Ravenloft lore, and all of us that got to collaborate with them in-client or on plots thoroughly enjoyed each experience. They will be genuinely missed, but we’re assuaged in that they won’t be far and likely will return someday when the mood strikes and time permits. For those unaware, Despot would often create artwork for much of their plot ideas, stories, and NPCs that were remarkably stylized in a similar fashion to the Ravenloft source material. For us D&D and Ravenloft nerds, that artwork was truly awesome to see!
Rather than rant on extolling the many virtues of Despot, I’ll just conclude with this: Thank you, earnestly, for your passion, creativity, time, and enthusiasm for the server and its benefit. It showed through in all you did and it was, and is, greatly appreciated.
