Alright, we've found the most probable cause of placeable count jumping, the @seatme command. We'll fix that next update, though it won't remove placeables from existing rentals.

Alright, these issues should now be fixed, though not retroactively.

Actually it seems like changing the XYZ options on a placeable is a bit broken. Changing the Y sometimes changes the X and so on.

(this may have been the result of the changes made to NWN where clicking on your character passes the action through it since using the pick target action needs you to click on your character to place it at the location you picked.)

I've figured out what this is I believe? When you use @spawn destroy, it picks a new target at the clicked object or clicked position. So when I would try to make adjustments in increments of 0.1 and delete the prior piece, it was moving to where the piece used to be and giving it an illusion of being additive. I am unsure whether this is a bug or intended function.

That's a logical explanation. Unfortunately they both use the same "function" so to speak. What you can do in that case is clear the @spawn x variable by resetting it to @spawn x 0.0, since your new location is where you want your placeable anyway.

Though I would say that even allowing for just 5 carpentry placeables on top of the limit would be beneficial as at least then it would allow for quick maneuvering of extra tables and chairs during events.

ive been thinking real hard about chairs . i often have the Chair Problem at events

couldnt we, just like with the usable 'chests' and 'picnic baskets' you can purchase from vendors, have usable chairs that can be placed on the fly outside of carpentry? of course youre still carrying around a bunch of 'chair' items, but .. itd help? just use it and POW! a chair! roleplay!

I think the chair is a great idea. You should be able to purchase chairs like a normal person without having to have a carpentry skill, wood, and a kit on you at all times anyways. Bards use chairs the most, and they have to get a smiths apron to equip axes to even cut a tree.

Give the people chairs!

Was there a reset in-between, and was your rental's appearance modified?

In this case... I can't really remember. It's possible it happened before or after yesterday's crash, I will endeavor to replace the tile under same conditions and see what happens.

This happened in my rental several months ago. I'm not sure exactly why/how it happens, but I've found that setting the z value to 0.02 has protected against this issue in all cases and visually differs from z 0.01 by a negligible amount since we generally can't get our camera angles low enough to visualize a gap between the carpet and the floor. (Probably obvious, I know, but I just wanted to toss it out there.)

EDIT to avoid double-posting; sorry:

I like this idea and fully support it if it could work! However, I've noticed that basket and chest items placed into rentals sometimes get converted into indestructible placeables that have to be removed with @spawn destroy. (I think it's usually after a reset.) I don't know whether the chairs would end up the same way or whether it'd cause problems, but the risk seems pretty small. I'd say it's worth the attempt if it's possible.

That's a bug. I'll make it so placeable items (eg. baskets) aren't automatically stored.

We'll look into adding chair placeable items.

Are there any lingering bugs with the rental system?

Oh no :(

I have a cooking pot I use in my rental, I'd hate to have to lug it around everywhere because it won't function/get saved.

Mmm, good point. I can keep them but some will continue not working post-reset.

I haven't yet checked to see if it worked still post-reset so maybe I'm out of luck regardless!

I'll move this to fixed bugs. I think that fixing the bugs which generated a lot of invisible placeables should already help.

Thanks, EO. Just wanted to confirm (for the part of Vallaki Warehouse Two, at least) that I haven't had many issues with the rental system since the update. I did have a placeable go missing recently, but I was able to put it back in without any trouble.
