Stacked Scrolls sold by the price of individual Scrolls
« on: October 16, 2024, 12:02:38 PM »
Where: I suppose everywhere, but I've seem it on Djordj and on the Shade guy in Port's dock

When: today, 16/10/2024 (or 10/16 for our US friends), at 1600 UTC

What: a stack of scrolls will be sold by the price of individual scrolls.

Recreate: Stack two scrolls, let one of the same spell alone. Sell the one, check the price, sell the stack, check the price.

Ideas: I thought this was solved on the last update, so I'm out of ideas.

You are probably hitting his max selling cap on one scroll, so it won't go up for more than one. Does this still happen when selling a 'cheap' scroll?

Yes, a level 1 scroll has the prices multiplied correctly.

In any case, shouldn't the value be multiplied? Supposing an item has a value of 15, and the vendor cap is 10 for this character. I would expect a stack of two to be sold for 20.

The issue is that it's an engine limitation. The engine treats a stack as one trade item.

... AND stores are set up with a maximum buying price that is not dynamic (except maybe with appraise) and independent of whatever you are trying to sell.

So if the vendor cap is 10 gold, 10 gold is the maximum you'll get in any given transaction.

All right, thanks for the clarification. I didn't know the engine saw a stack of items as *one* item.

Let's un-stack for maximum gold!

Yep! Always divide your stacks of expensive things, or you are giving them to the merchant for free!

probably falls into the real of exploit but selling cheap stuff unstacked also gets you more money. when the stack is 1 gold unpilling it makes it 1 gold per items

Not an exploit! If you want to take the time to unstack, that's totally valid.
