computer crashed, cannot get to my old characters after wiping system

after my system reformatted and new operating system installed, I reloaded steam and POTM...Im guessing that I didn't reenter the correct player name or something, but the game comes up as if I were a new player with no characters at all to start with, how can I get this fixed?

If you remember the name you used to login, you can change that in the multiplayer settings ingame, by putting in the username or playername that you used before.

If you don't remember said name, DM's should be able to retrieve your information for you
