Auction Rules
1. Standard Dementlieuse auction law applies: all bids made are assumed to be in good faith, and a winning bid represent a legally-binding oral contract between bidder and auctioneer. Failure to uphold a bid represents a breach of contract and may be pursued as a civil tort by the harmed party or parties.
2. A minimum bid increase amount will be set during each round of bidding, set by the auctioneer, which may increase; generally, this will be 1,000 solars, or 5% of the current bid (rounded down to the nearest thousand), whichever is higher. The auctioneer will announce when this quantity increases. Bids that do not meet this minimum increase are considered void.
3. Poor behaviour on the part of a bidder, such as making excessive nuisance bids (e.g. bidding below the minimum increase as set out in section 2 above) or demonstrating continued poor decorum, may see a bidder asked to leave the auction, at the auctioneer's discretion. Such a request will not nullify the bidder's rights to fulfil previously established winning bids, as outlined in section 1 above, unless they refuse to abide by the auctioneer's authority and leave: failure to leave upon being requested to do so may result in the bidder being reported for criminal trespass, and all their previous winning bids to be considered null and void.
