Ancient Dire Jaguar Armor buged?
« on: July 22, 2023, 08:48:54 PM »
Hi,
I just made this leather armor from ancient dire jaguar and the stats seen odd. The armor gives +1 save vs cold, and +2 hide. Those are different from boots and gloves (+3 hide, no cold) and, if my memory doesn't betray me, the same as Ebon Tiger armors.
I'm not sure if it's intended, but it seens odd that a big cat from a tropical jungle that hits you with heat saves every now and then would have any type of protection vs cold.

I was wondering in addition to this, if the weight on these armors is a little much. The boiled leather and studded leather jaguar hides are light armors, but they are literally twice as heavy as their normal light armor variants.

It's not bugged, it is just not optimal to use that lining in combination with sturdy boiled leather armors.

The base property of all ancient dire hides is to provide a +2 AC vs Piercing at the cost of a 10 pounds weight increase. The benefit is nullified by the base +2 AC bonus of the sturdy boiled leather armors, but the weight remains. It is still of value on armors made of chitins or metal.
Best Regards!
