Spells Being Eaten

Hi there,

Level 14 Cleric reporting in!

I was dungeoning earlier today and I noticed that two of my spells were 'eaten' by the game. The first time confused me - I'd cast Greater Magic Weapon three times on three weapons, but only two of them worked.

"I must have misclicked," I assumed.

Later, I cast AOE Mass Negative Energy Protection and that also didn't work. It was right after a rest, I had not used any other spell slots and it just said (after 'casting mass negative energy protection') that 'there are no charges of this spell left' (or however it worded it.)

I have screenshotted every action I took after the rest, to demonstrate that the spell slot had not been used and the spell started to be cast. It's quite a few screenshots, sorry. ^^

The second screenshot doesn't matter too much - it's just there to show the full chain of casts.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for flagging this for us. I gave it a shot with a level 14 Cleric but didn't run into the same problem. Has this popped up in multiple sessions? Just wondering if it could be related to server load or a specific event.

Any more insights help!

Talis is off in BG3-land but having been around when she was having these issues and in some other effected parties, this seems to be something that comes up when casting area of effect spells buffs for the most part.  It's likely related to the same bug of still taking damage from the NPCs when it says they missed that has been brought up in discord several times (but I don't think has been put up here) - the combat parsing has been cooked of late.

MAB poked me about following up on this, hence the threadromancy.

I'm actually a Fallen Cleric right now so I can't do fresh tests, but it did happen a few times. If/when Talis gets her powers back, I'll keep an eye out for further instances.

This hasn't repeated itself. Hopefully it is resolved.
