Indomitable will [fear save]
« on: March 13, 2023, 10:33:17 PM »
Barbarian indomitable will [lvl 16 feat] doesn't provide +4 vs fear of greater mist horrors. I haven't tested it with any other sources of fear yet, but I will do it as soon as possible.

P.S. Main server.

That's because it's a fear save, not a mind-affecting save. The two are not always mutually inclusive. It's not a "mind-affecting" spell/ability, even if immunity to mind spells confers immunity to fear:the condition as a consequence.

Pedantic but intended mechanics.

Fear saves are not the same as mind-affecting saves, zDark has the right of it.

Indomitable Will does not help vs Fear.

Is "frightened" a mind-affecting effect?  :)

From the nwn wikia:
"The mind-affecting effects are charmed, confused, dazed, dominated, frightened, paralyzed, sleep, and stunned. Any attempt to apply one of these effects to a creature with immunity to mind-affecting spells will fail."

There is a separation of cause and effect. Saving throws apply to the cause, not the effect, and immunity applies to the effect, and the cause only if it has the "mind-affecting" descriptor.

They're indeed two separate things, so it's working properly.
