Port-a-Lucine - Val de Luxémont
« on: March 10, 2023, 12:17:43 PM »
Rumors spread to the fields outside the city.
A tall blond man, looking more like a dockworker than a woodcutter has recently built a small shelter in the lumberjack's camp in the woodlands, near the lake of Val de Luxémont.
The man is said to keep wild animals at bay at night and help loggers cut down trees and build furnitures with the extra wood.

Quote
It was just before dusk that she saw the tall blonde man standing above something upon the ground, from distance through her spectacles it appeared a discarded sack of berries whose contents had been spilled over the grass around it, staining it a dark crimson. It was only as she approached that it became recognisable for what it was... and with each footstep closer the full horror of what had transpired began to unravel before her eyes.

They remained there with the corpse until daybreak, when they had decided to head back into the city to inform the Gendarmerie of their gruesome discovery...

Nighttime in Val de Luxémont was disrupted by the sounds of battle and the skittering of hundreds. Four figures - an exotic man, a towering woman, a slight woman, and a hooded dwarf - were seen carrying a lifeless fifth, covered in cocoon webbing, out from the woods behind the lumberjack settlement, while desperately fighting through a legion of spiders coming from the darkness, ranging in the unnatural sizes of rats to that of horses. The onslaught left them battered and bruised before they were able to reach the relative safety of city walls.

[the sounds of a fight in the very early hours of the morning, just before sunrise broke the calm of the village of Val de Luxemont, near the woodcutters' stations. A pair of gunshots, and then shortly later some arcane words and the clang of steel shattered the peace along the freshly fallen snow. Villagers that had peaked out their windows at night muttered about a group of darkly dressed women, led by a figure clad in a black segmented cuirass, confronting a figure with a glowing staff...]

As the sun rises, a tall, blond man dressed in black runs to warn the gendarmes at the barracks near the lake.
It appears the man made a gruesome discovery on his way to chop wood in the Woodlands of the Val de Luxemont.
