  • I am some what of a wizard myself.
I'm not sure if this is happening to anyone else.

But sometimes I'll cast Extended Expeditious Retreat and go through the animation, see the Cast -> Casts in the combat log, then I get no speed increase. Not listed in my character sheet either.

Issue is intermittent. But having to cast it twice is no fun.

If there's any logging or reporting needed let me know!

Thanks.

I can confirm this has happened on multiple characters for me as well.

I've narrowed it down to seeming to maybe be if you are invisible before you cast it on yourself, and you do not have any kind of magical sight up. You should still be able to cast on yourself, anyway, but it doesn't seem to like it.

This is frustrating and I've seen this happen myself. It is especially prevelent when you cast haste immediately before you cast expeditious retreat. So if you are, for instance, buffing a group of pc's with individual haste buffs and then go to cast expeditious retreat on yourself so that you can keep up with the speed racers, you will often find it completes the casting animation and applies no speed buff. If you happen to remember to sequence it in a different order, this may help. Or alternatively, if you begin the cast animation, cancenl it, and then cast it again, it should apply the buff that way. I know it's not a fix to the problem, but it's a work around to keep in your mind should you bump into this issue frequently like I did.

It's so frustrating. Especially because it expends a spell slot too.

Thank you all so much for responding and providing a workaround.

Big facts I was hasting my party and then trying to expeditious myself. I will try to give some time after the last haste cast or do the animation cancel as suggested.

Thanks again!

This should now be fixed.
