A hooded woman in black is seen entering and leaving the Zeklos keep on a weekly basis.  Often she is accompanied by a man in shining armor, Vasham, known to be the current captain of the Boyar's guard.  The guards seem to recognize her and let them pass, but her business there is unknown.

*The towerguards have noted a young woman in a rather shiney plate armour has started to lead small groups of adventurers into the Boyars family crypt. Oddly enough they have allways seemed to leave with as many members as they enter though they did appear battered at times and dont allways leave as a group.
The guards are puzzled as to why the woman and her companions would go to the crypt as they obviously arent related to Boyar Von Zeklos.*

Rumours talk of increased soldier activity within the keep, a number of black armoured men seem to enter at times and those close by can hear the sounds of a large number of men patrolling the inner keep

Strange rumours come from the Zeklos keep. Visisters speak of a nightly visitor, a ghost some say, that wanders the halls and corridors of the keep at night. Those visitors whom see her are all scared, they know her, its the daughter of Nicolae von Zeklos, Izabella.
Strangely enough, the servants and guards at the keep all seems to enjoy the fact that the Izabella is back. They believe she has come to watch over them.
The farmers and woodsmen around the keep all look at the keep with new eyes. The old lord of the Zeklos is dead and now the long dead daughter has returned. The peasants all find a new form of fear in the hearts for the keep.

Throughout the summer, rain or shine, though most likely rain, laborers and wagon loads of building materials are seen moving West and East along Old Svalich road between the Zeklos Keep and Vallaki.  The gold from the Church of Ezra had brought jobs, and with all the supplies and material that go into working on chapels, the local economy benefited many, both the working poor and the merchant class.

On this morning though, laborers with wagons packed, and guarded by the Zeklos boyar guards, come to a stop as they come across the blood stained, and smoking debris of the Western Wall, or what was left of it.  Men quickly remove tools from the wagon and begin working to clear the rubble from the road, to make enough room for the wagons to pass.  Grim faces dripped with ash and sweat as they had the awful time of coming across the occasional body part.

Tension runs high, as some fear that the Invidians will see the smoke rising from Vallaki, and think it an opportune time for an attack.  The men curse the Gundarakite Rebels under their breath, keeping a glaring eye on a Gundarakite man who's been in their hire all summer with the task of bringing water to the laborers as they work.  Anytime they come across a finger, arm, a foot, all of which was burnt, they barked at the Gundarakite laborer to come and take it away.  A pile was made, and who better, they thought, than to have a Gundarakite clean up the worse of the carnage that their kin, those filthy rebels, did start.

After finally clearing the way for the wagons, the labors, under the escort of the Boyar Guard, once again make their way to the Zeklos Keep.  The Keep's Chapel, it is rumored, is near completetion.

A certain Guard Corporal visits von Zeklos keep, and leaves a simple letter for Lady von Zeklos with one of the guards.

"Vladimir Kaiser will play ball with us. Speak to him about payments and he'll be your negotiator with the Mercenaries. Shouldn't cost too much, he has no love for the Invidians and I gave him the "fight alongside your countrymen for victory" spiel. - Crpl. Dragomir Katzinkaly"

A farm hand of the lord's keep reported a strange and unsettling discovery the previous night, during the wee hours of the morning when he ventured outside to use the outhouse.
He claims to have seen a slender figure, clad in a form fitting long black tunic and black cloak, it's face covered by a hood and scarf.
This mysterious figure was perched crouching in a tree and was allegedly described as wearing lots of undistinguishable equipment sheathed on a belt, as well as a large backpack.
The farmhand also seemed quite adamant that as soon as his emotions got running and fear mixed with anger developed, the figure without a word simply vanished from sight.
Despite being shooken up and nervous, the young man swears he thinks the elusive figure was observing the keep.....

The Escape and Menace of Dr. Payne & His Monster

The monster of Dr. Payne continues to rampage to the west of Vallaki.  Some claim the beast stands as tall as a tree, and has been uprooting trees and using them to bash barns, bludgeon cows, and batter farm equipment.

Others refute such descriptions of the monster, and claim the Monster changes forms, disguising itself among common forest animals and barn yard critters.

Still others say none have laid eyes on the monster itself, and have only seen the menacing work left in its wake upon the western countryside.

Dr. Payne, the mad scientists who is responsible for the monsters’ creation, had been captured and was being held prisoner deep within the dungeons of Zeklos Keep until this past week.

Anchorites and laymen of Ezra have been seen entering and leaving the Chapel more frequently with a sense of urgency.

Dr. Payne and His Monster are loose!

Orphans of War-Torn Zeidenburg

Zeidenburg, having been leveled by the Invidian barbarians, is now facing a crisis.  The Church of Ezra is making an effort to send resources to the war torn city, and Wardens of Ezra have been seen more often as of late traveling west and east between Vallaki and Zeidenburg.

According to local gossip, and confirmed by some eye witnesses, a mass burial followed by a ceremony conducted by Zeklos Chapel Warden Sylvatore took place this past week on Zeklos land.  It is said that the Church of Ezra had arranged for children to be escorted from Zeidenburg to the orphanage, where efforts to find the war orphans homes was underway.  The wagon of children, under the protection of two Wardens, were found butchered, left to the flies along the road.

Some claim it was Dr. Payne’s monster, while others refute this claim, saying that if it was Dr. Payne’s monster, the bodies would have been devoured.  Some wonder if the Gundarakite Rebels are to blame, having possibly mistook the wagon of children for being a wagon of supplies for the Vallaki Guard.  Though it is not certain who is to blame, one thing if for certain; Two Wardens of Ezra along with a dozen Barovian orphaned children have been buried and put to rest.

Some of the Zeklos guards whisper of a lone shadowy figure seen at the rare times in the trees near the wall. None are able to make out any details other then whoever...or whatever it is moves with speed almost unmatched by anything any have ever seen or heard of. A few braver souls attempt to fire arrows at the form but either they miss, or have no effect.

In the last weeks a black stake surrounded by strange mists could been seen on the walls of the von Zeklos Keep near the gate. A sign was placed there reading:

There will be no mercy for those, who act against the Count and his Boyar's will !

Rumours speak, a head had been seen being impaled there. It should have been the head of traitor and man guilty of high treason: Michael Freeman. The cursed head is said being crumbled to dust. Farmers assume that witches die in such a way...

Dark clad figures well armed and seemingly outfitted with the items of a vampire hunt, stalk the grounds of Zeklos keep during the night, especially surrounding the crypts.  They seem professional in their mannerisms, and are exceptionally well trained at avoiding sight when the need arises.

New signs are seen built up throughout the von Zeklos ground and land - replacing older signs:

Wanted!

The presumed murderers of Simon von Zeklos. Simon was killed outside the von Zeklos keep.

--> A man named Khay clad in blue and gold scale armour with occationally white hood. The man is strongly muscled and described as being handsome as well as an experienced fighter.

--> A man named Aghila. Young, about 25 years, dark eyes, short brown hair, no scars in his face, around 6 feet's tall and light build, dressed in green leathers and a brown cloak. The man is able to cast witchery and turn into fairy beings. Be warned! This man is considered to be extremly dangerous!

--> An unknown witch. There was a woman along with Khay and that Aghila. She was seen near the von Zeklos Keep walls and escaped as the others fled on their recent attack. The woman was surrounded by magics and was rather slender build and of average height.

--> A man by the name of Ezrite Templar Antonius. Clads in green and white armor. His face is hidden behind many dressings. He claims to have vile scars of a recent bear attack on his head and face. The man is muscled and appears to be a talented fighter.

Reward: 20.000 fangs in gold or a precious item from the von Zeklos' Keep treasury for Each murderer brought to the keep. Also an invitation to meet Lord Vincent von Zeklos and high honor.
1.000 fangs in gold for hints that lead to the capture of the assassins
