Warding Gesture-Dominate Gaze and Spellcraft
« on: January 08, 2023, 07:45:47 PM »
The Warding Gesture is not a spell-like or a spell ability, and while I am not sure what the intended effect of Dominate Gaze (of vampires) is, I believe it is not either.

But spellcraft adds to the saves of both. Given how the DCs of these abilities are quite low as well, I think it shouldn't.

How to recreate: Use Warding Gesture against the intended target, or Dominate Gaze, and check their willsave to see if it's applying Spellcraft or not.

Unfortunately Spellcraft is hardcoded so we can't change that. It applies to monster abilities, spell-like abilities and many more things.

Would it be possible to rip something from Hexblade's curse to make this work? Spellcraft does not help when saving vs hexblade curse.
