[Port-a-Lucine] An Open Letter to the "Heroes"
« on: January 07, 2023, 10:23:28 AM »
[Throughout the seedier parts of the Quartier Marchand and the Quartier Ouvrier can be seen the following screed, written in large, blocky letters designed to conceal the identity of its writer. It reads as follows...]

Quote

To the heroes and honorable men and women of the Wayfarer Kinship and the Company of the Bridge both, I say: “bravo”.

In your pursuit of your mark, you got six caliban, guilty only of trying to do the job they were hired for (keep things civil for the talent show) killed and seen countless others injured and traumatized. How does it feel knowing that in the pursuit of good, you took the lives of innocent, sentient living creatures, made the common folk of Port-a-Lucine loathe you, and alienated yourselves in the eyes of countless others?

You had options. You could have actually given people time to vacate the abandoned establishment. You could have given those who died in your quarry’s defense a chance to actually stand down. You could have used a measured response, and exercised a reasonable degree of force. You all, of course, did none of these things. If you cannot see why you are despised in the wake of what has unfolded, you have only yourselves to blame.

If there is a good deed that can be done by you following the heinous act you performed, it is this: leave Dementlieu and never return. Return to Barovia, to Vallaki, and stay there. The people of Port-a-Lucine can ill afford another display of your “heroics”, and clearly nuance is something your organizations struggle with. If you’ve a modicum of self-respect or humility, you will follow the elf Heir into exile and never darken the doorways of civilized nations ever again.
