Another notice is found upon the stone outside Vallaki's gates

The Emissary Doth Decree the city of Vallaki is claimed by we, Barovia shall soon be free.

Hark now sinners and saints all, see now the power we wield that the grey city now belongs to our lord. The false ruler, Count Strahd von Zarovich is a pretender and a usurper to the rightful lord of Barovia. Those that would earn our favor will bring us his gutless servant Svari Ionelus bound in chains.

More notices appear, spread throughout Barovia, written in both common and fluent Balok

The Emissary Doth Decree No Such Thing

These pitifully transparent attempts by the Wayfarer Kinship to manipulate the rightful Lord of Barovia, Count Strahd von Zarovich XI, are as transparent as they are gutless.

How profoundly feebleminded they must think the good people of Barovia, to fall for such woeful attempts at deceit.

How profoundly arrogant must they be, to think to use His Excellency as a cudgel to resolve their own petty grudges.

The fate of the witch Melian was one of her own making. Whyever would the Brotherhood make claim to Vallaki as a result?

Svari Ionelus has not yet raised his hand against the Brotherhood, and so we bid him no quarrel. But consider who suffers most, when these covens of outlander witches seek to incite war and bloodshed, using the good people of Vallaki as their shield, and its protectors as their sword? For it is not them.

People of Vallaki, they do not care one single whit for your safety, or protection. You are but the host on which they feed, sacrificial lambs for their indulgent crusades.

More notices appear, only this time they are only in Common. The handwriting is forged, and by one with such an affinity for deceit and mimicry that only a keen eye could discern it.

The Emissary Doth Decree An Announcement is Warranted for the Sake of Our Relevance

Tremble at our boisterous boasts as we loot undefended churches and slaughter children but waiver at the sight of a garrisoned village.

Shake with dreadful anticipation as we scurry into the shadows and cower in the bowels of places where you pitch your excrement into, only to be evicted by our hosts like simpering fools.

Quake with uncertainty as we hide in the far corners of a forgotten land only to tear each other apart at the first departure of our master.

Spasm with confusion as we contradict our previous proclamations of a Barovia free from tyranny and the hour of Gundarakite ascension with announcements licking the boots of the Count and Burgomeister we once so brazenly pledged to oust.

Be very concerned, natives and Outlanders alike, for though we have faltered at any sign of real resistance, suffered infighting and desertions, and now feebly court the favor of the ones we were once so ambitious to oppose, we will do anything, say anything, be anything, just to remind the Core that we exist.
