Hello. Yesterday I added someone to the faction and for some reason, they received rank 3 (one rank below mine) right upon marking them as a faction member. The target was already marked as a faction friend and had never been a part of the faction before.
A second bug came up after this: when someone is flagged as a high rank (gaining access to more items in the armory), if they are demoted, the access to such items is not removed. We tried having the character rest, relog and even taking out one item from the faction store, they still were able to see all items up to rank 3 (although, they were only able to pick one per item, as if they were rank 1).
