Liturgy of Death - Zoltán Vásáry

The first law was that all Death must have meaning.

The second law was that Death must be celebrated.

The third law was that Death shall find all.

A flower blossoming was never the sign that life has come, but that death was soon to claim it.  Beauty was found in all living things only because they have had something worth taking.  So, Zoltán, pluck the flower for the Elder God.  Having watched it wither in your fingers, can you see its beauty?  Savor it, and know while this day you bloom, one day you will wither too.

Those blessed by the Old God are those who were passed over.  Some were given Winter's strength and allowed to take that which is owed to Him.

Ensure you have paid homage to that which does not yet sleep, for if you do not, perhaps you will be next.

Even a withered rose still has its thorns; brittle as they are sharp.  Be mindful, Zoltán, for a single misstep might just prick that hand.  And from even so small a prick can come the infection and your undoing.  Keep your humours in check, for even that which is dead or dying can yet kill.
