Solo Bard Song?

Greetings! I was curious if it's possible to give bard song a toggle so that it only effects the bard using the song? If it is possible, how easy would it be to do (not a super high priority of Dev time after all).

Just a quality of life change to help with, vendoring stuff, and also helps trying to find detectors. It doesn't do much good if I increase their stealth scores by the same rate I increase my detect scores.

That'd go against the nature of bard song, which is to empower allies in combat. If anything, bard song should only affect allies (in PnP you need to maintain your song/art form during the entire duration, which limits what you can do).

For selling - use bard song outside of the vendors range then walk up and sell it should be active long enough to get the bonus to your appraise.

For detecting - not alot you can do about this one except if the person you are trying to detect is set to hostile then your bard song will not effect them.

you can now hostile everyone in the area with the hostiling tool, which is something I have been using on occasions when I did not want other people to benefit from my bardsong. It can be dangerous though as you might get hit with stuff, and I'm not sure if it is considered an exploit, which would be great to get a confirmation on.

You should only be hostiling people you are actually hostile to.

But if bardsong is meant to inspire allies, wouldn't that mean I might be inspiring somebody that is sneaking about, which I would be hostile to if I could see them or otherwise not even bothering to enhance my skills further? Because this is not just a performance, but rather a magical performance where you are meant to be able to choose who to inspire.

While I realize it is a limitation of the engine and the lack of a party system, I would not want to make the "sneaking" part of the encounter get even further bonuses if they are even present.

Even those the bard cannot see are inspired by their performance. Hostile shenanigans with bard/curse song were mostly addressed about a year and a half ago with the removal of the @hostile server/all command. There were some that would "spy check" with AoE spells and bard song instead of a flamethrower.
