[A statement is placed about various locations in Dementlieu]
I admit that in the public eye I have been much quieter than what would be expected of me. I will not hide behind publications and their publishing schedule nor will I put these opinions to their presses as they could be seen as overly incendiary and if anyone is to be targeted by my words it will be me, not innocents making their own living. It has recently come to my attention that members of the Vagrant camp within the mists have made threats against our serene Republique, wanting the bodies back of a known traitor Alusand Fersquing, (or if they are to be believed Alusand Fearsquid) and the to my best knowledge the yet to be judged Sonea Evertale. I do not need to remind this Republique of the crimes that Fersquing had committed on our land but mlle Evertale is a different matter. She had once tried to seek employment from me at the Musee. I had my own people investigate the woman and it was discovered that she would feast on the corpses of those she killed at night within the less fortunate districts of our Republique. This woman is a danger not only to the Republique but those who would seek to "save" her from "unjust" incarceration.
I would like to say that I am surprised by these actions of the vagrant camp but it seems to be an extremely common situation, they believe our home to be nothing more than a hunting ground for their own sport. They hold no respect for our laws and threaten the good men and women of the gendarme with posturing because their friends broke them and were caught. They treat our most desperate citizens as if they were game animals. Many months ago during the initial debate for the Cultural advisor seat the question was asked of then candidate Sieur Regnier Chaboteaux on his stance on letting more people seek citizenship where he bluntly said "We're Full". At the time I admit it felt overly callous and short sighted but perhaps there is more wisdom in this than initially thought.
It is clear to me that those claiming to be from outside the mists should be held to a higher standard than those nativeborn when seeking a place within our Republique. I would propose not only Requiring three noble sign offs on citizenship for them but also not allowing these vagrants to prey on our poor. Remove the bounties except for state sponsored bounty hunters. Our people are not sport. We more than ever need to stand united as a Republique, we need to take a hard line stance against these vagrants and show them that we are not and willl not be intimidated by their bluster. Finally to the members of the vagrant camp, I beseech you to lay down your arms and let these criminals stay with their fate. It is not worth your blood or those of the Gendarme Nationale over these individuals. They were not good women and how long would it have been until they saw you as their next target?
