Mummies Dispelling Ethereaul Jaunt?
« on: June 11, 2021, 09:33:52 AM »
Name:
Mummies perceive and dispell Ethereaul Jaunt

Where:
Temple of Harvest.

When:
When entering the last room.

What:
I was with a group in the Temple. We decided to 1) gather the mummies near the entrance of the last room and 2) Make a strong first strike. The rogue entered, aggroed them and went back. A few mummies went through the door, we killed them and went for the second step. My Cleric cated Ethereaul Jaunt and entered the second room to spend, safely, it's biggest spell. As I entered the room, with the Ethereaul Jaunt on, the mummies started dispelling me.

The problem is mainly that, while in the ethereal, I should not be perceived by them, therefore, they should not attempt to dispell.

Recreate:
Probably the situation may be recreated in other places too.

Ideas:
Dunno if it is the monsters or the spell changes the question, therefore, dunno what could be done for fixing it.
Noignar Huillen: Ilmater Cleric.
Hedien Gine: Arrow and Bow Artist.
Dolin Schneim: Dwarven Soldier

Those mummies cast true seeing.

Individuals under ethereal jaunt can be perceived by anyone with see invisibility or true seeing on.

Per the original spell:

https://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/etherealJaunt.htm

"An ethereal creature is invisible, insubstantial, and..."

Emphasis mine. Being in the near ethereal does not make you undetectable to those with see invisibility.

Those mummies cast true seeing early in their rotation and could therefore dispel you.
