I have a character, perhaps more than one, who would love to see this in game and have a chance to get one.
Name: Rajnian Khanda of the Bhaktas
Base Type: Bastard Sword (Exotic) -- 1d10 slashing damage, 19-20 (x2) critical, 10.0 weight
Unidentified Description: This double-edged straight sword has a broad and quite heavy blade that transforms rather abruptly into a tip. It has many inscriptions engraved upon the flat of its blade.
Identified Description: Unique to the domain of Sri Rajni, this double-edged straight sword is traditionally used by followers of a tiny monotheistic faith, whose members call themselves the Disciples. To them, the khanda symbolizes knowledge of the supreme truth. On the blade, an inscription from a guru forbids clerics, monks, worthless talk, drunkenness, adultery and greed. Hence some refer to this particular sword as the khanda of the "bhaktas," referring to those revered as saints by the guru's much persecuted religion.
Item Statistics: AC Bonus vs. Alignment Group (Evil +1), Decreased Skill Modifier (Antagonize -2), Decreased Skill Modifier (Concentration -2), Enhancement Bonus (+1), Material (Steel), Skill Bonus (Heal +1), Skill Bonus (Lore +1), Skill Bonus (Spellcraft +1), Use Limitation (Classes Barbarian, Bard, Champion of Torm, Fighter, Paladin, Ranger, Weapon Master)
Item Value: 8,166
Appearance: Top (Model 25, Color 1), Middle (Model 3, Color 2), Bottom (Model 3, Color 2)
Note: The appearance and base attributes of this weapon is accurate to that of a real khanda. It is held in the same cultural esteem in India as the katana is in Japan, and the bastard sword mechanics and model options mimic it surprisingly well. The religious significance of the blade and the content of the guru's instructions are also historical and not invented by me.
EDIT: In the item description, changed the word "small" to "tiny" to refer to the extremely small number of Disciples in Sri Rajni (about 2 percent of the total population). Changed the word "priestless" to "monotheistic" since the description mentions later on that clerics are forbidden, so obviously they are priestless, but it might not be immediately obvious that, like the followers of the Lawgiver in Hazlan, the Disciples believe in only one god (in Hazlan, the rest of the gods of Ravenloft are viewed as lesser beings, although far more powerful than mortals).
Added Bard to allowed classes.
