Found on laying face down was a ragged pulp that was later identified as the body of the drunkard Ionache. Although he seems to have died from the harsh cold, there appeared to be several bruises on him. Locals of the Angler's Dive speak of piss ale being the cause of his recklessness of leaving the safety of his home at night, others speak an unsettled bet being the cause. Loud boisterous shouts are heard from the far end of the room. One of the local fishermen speaks about not fearing the price. The fights are back and it's a good time to make some fangs.

The sailors around the docks in the past forenight spoke of a recent passenger that came from the northern shores of lake zarovich. The man was clad in what was outlandishly described as pure white armor caked with many splatters of fresh blood and marks of recent battle. Held closely to him was the body of a woman her form seeming torn and battered in many areas. No fully postive identifaction was made by the sailors on the ferry boat during the trip but the man was seen rushing from the docks the moment the ship neared there and rushed off to the nobles district.

Sweat and smokes exhales from the Angler's dive, drunken laughter of the fishermen and some farmers alike, pouring bad ale down their throat to appease their misery. One familiar figure to the pub tall and muscled man sits in his usual corner, speaking loud and drunkly to his usual. "So they made that white haired freak a corporal! Outlander witch i tell ye! Now they be lookin' all over for his woife. A VROLOK! Were such a noice barovian lass that Markova." Men alike shouts at the loud mouth to lower his voice, cursing the night away wouldn't make it better but at low voice do the fishermen and farmers whispers of the witch corporal of Vallaki and his blood sucking wife.

The rumor spreads. Another  hooded man in seen by the docks, cursing Vallaki and what's its become while fishermen gather.

"Be a well known fact now, tha' wench Tatyana Markova, be a Vrolock! Married to an Outlander guard, tha' one they call Vasham! Slaves, 'ye all slaves to outlanders! Do somethin'!"

The man grunted before entering the next ferry boat, disappearing from sight.

A couple days later rumor spreads like wildfire through the poorer parts of town that the known Vrolok Tatyana Markova is dead,
destroyed at the merciful hands of goodly forces. One less burden on the weary shoulders of the common man and his family,
one less terror to haunt the night in search of blood and innocence.

A cloaked and hooded woman snatches up a street urchin dashing by and demands to know what the bloody hell everyones going on about.  After paying him five fangs he whispers to her excitedly.

"Didntcha hear miss?  The monster, the one known as Markova. . . shes dead! Dead!"

Madison smiles and pays him another five fangs.

As tired fishermen retire to the Angler's Dive after a long days work, they revel in the drinks and food, what they didn't know was that while they enjoyed their free time, they left the main door open.

A gapping maw that sprouted light in the night. Rats chittered and squeaked, they're screeching growing higher until it came. From the dark maw came into the light a huge rat neuri, screeching at the patrons, tossing them and their chairs and tables aside. Two brave people stood up to the rat, a man and a woman, but were quickly forced to retreat.

The rat neuri pursued... and the locals learned to never forget to close their doors...

Some people laugh, mostly outlanders, at the misfortunes of the inn dwellers. Others just remember to more securely lock there doors

Dockworkers and boatmen speak more and more that when they looked over the side of their boats or off the edge of the docks, they could see a solid white skull like face staring back at them. They also hear that once a skeletal hand even reached up and grabbed the foot of a fisherman out by the fishing lodge, but he was able to get away. Outlander witches are suspected by the locals, but they only say so in hushed tones so as to avoid an outlander witch cursing them with sterility or some such.

*Sailors speak uneasily about a weatherworn ship with battered sails that docked ashore with most of its crew dead and the captain tied to the wheel, clinging onto his life. Doctor Hakim Jusef was seen rushing to the scene, to be joined later by an anchorite of Ezra with long black hair. They came too late, but the words of the dying man were clear to them:*

"The northern shore... the station!"

*Sailors mutter about the cursed place, baffled that the hold was filled with fish and that they had no reason to land ashore in such a cursed place. Those who carried the dead men to the Doctor's home speak with dread over an ale about the small green mark the dead men had on their chests*

Known Garda Dragomir Katzinkaly boards the lake ferry bound for the midway haven and vanishes from there, never arriving in the village of Barovia.

An outlander dressed in the green and white of the Dilisyna Cult has been spending the past few nights starting at dusk at the local tavern, The Angler's Dive.
He orders food and drink, but never consumes it. He just sits patiently and watches the door... Waiting for someone.

Another night has past at the Angler's Dive. The outlander attempted to introduce himself to a few of the barovian sailor patrons, sneers and rude remarks where received as he expected. The outlander, a Templar-Iniate named Linus was heard asking questions about a recently windowed woman named Cioboratu. The tight lipped clientele continued with the expected annoyance to his presence.

Recently an old warehouse on the pier's edge has been undergoing some small renovations. Cobwebs and debris are brushed out, and dozens of bunk beds brought in. Word is, it will be serving as a temporary Barracks for all the new conscripts.

Late in the night the citizens of Vallaki awoke to the sound of an explosion that shook the walls of nearby buildings. Smoke billowed up from the docks, as Barovians and outlanders alike rushed to the scene. An old warehouse that had been converted to a barracks to house the many Conscripts lay in ruin. The building was filled with the charred remains of men forcibly enlisted to serve count and country. The shell of a building still burned as outlanders, Garda, and peasants gawked.

Then, it rained.

Rumors spread that most of the Conscripts killed were of Gundar, it would seem, in the Explosion of the Conscript Barracks, and that the Gundar Rebels did it.

Vallaki dock workers and fishermen remark that a small ship pulled into port under the cover of darkness last night. The boats captain and crew avoid contact with the locals, their actions almost as suspicious as the crafts name, "Tua Fellazad".

Word spreads that a Garda patrol intercepted a black market deal on the Vallaki Docks. A skirmish occurred and a bomb was detonated destroying an unknown ship and her crew. All evidence now rests at the bottom of the harbor. Three Vallaki Guards gave their lives in the service of Barovian Law.

Evidence of a skirmish remains near the Angler's Dive. Torn Clothing, blood and wererat corpses litter the surrounding area.

Watch fires burned on the Docks wall throughout the night for the first time in a very long time. Some say that they saw a lone female garda walking the watch. The word fool was said along side the word dedicated. Some thought that maybe the docks would be safer now, others simply wondered, how long till old night took the shield maiden away forever?

With the advent of the Gundarakite Registration, numerous dock workers and ship hands have left the city. This has brought the fish harvest to a near stand still. Wealthy families like the Marucsas and the Trouthers have sent petitions to the Citadel requesting a reprieve. Many ship owners and captains fear they will not be able to fill there quotas before the lake freezes over.

During the night, a cargo ship docked in Vallaki from Midway Haven was raided, its goods stolen.  Considering the damage, and the loss of belongings that are of no value next to chests of silver gilding supplies, many have come to settle that it was done by wererats.

In other news, the corpse of a black leather clad man was found dismembered.  Considering the sheer ferocity of the attack, this was also blamed on wererats.
