While I understand that it might be because of some balancing issues, to me it makes little sense that a paper might weigh 0.5 pounds. As I found this item below, while at first I thought it cool, seeing that a stack of 10 weighs 5 pounds made little sense to me and I see no reason why anyone would want to carry it around and contribute so much against the weight limit that is so tight more often than not.
