Impeccably dressed footmen are seen moving about the city in the violet and black of House Fénelon, delivering small, hand-painted invitation cards to the city residences of certain noble families. The gossips tell that Thursday evening marks the Marquise's legendary garden fete, despite its humble name one of the most lavish and spectacular of all the city's entertainments. The invitations are selective, the promises delectable. A performance by the legendary Borcan diva Aria Oressina is rumored.

All attendees are expected to don costumes; the more elaborate, the better; and none may be admitted without a mask, for the things that occur in the garden are not talked of again.
