My EXP is not increasing.

I have been playing the game for a day now. I've been RP'ing for a long time, and harvewting the Gremlin ears for gold at the tavern. My problem is that it seems like my EXP is stuck at 1000! What did I do wrong?

Your XP is increasing but it does not show on the character sheet.  This is a "feature" of the server.
