Shadow summon flavor

Shadow summons (such as Shadowdancer ones) aren't too exciting mechanically, but they can be really fun for flavor. Could this flavor be enhanced by allowing for different visual types to be summoned, for example shadow animals like birds and cats? Not exactly a pressing matter but it'd be kind of fun.

If this option is entertained at all, I would enjoy the possibility of them mirroring the phenotype of the shadow dancer, except with a shadowy filter of course.
