Disguise skill and portraits
« on: March 01, 2020, 04:49:23 AM »
Hi, is it possible to add perhaps a new portrait while on disguise? Right now there is just a blank image.

You set it up when you create the disguise. Use @disguise help to see the commands.

No such command :/
And even in OOC Hall or Post Server Rest zone it gives an error saying You can not set a portrait for your disguise or something like that.

I thought I saw something that lets you do @disguise set portrait <portrait>. Does that not work?

Hi, so in the <portrait>, goes the name of the file? correct?

Usually without the file extension (e.g. ".tga"), I believe.

And whithout the H, L, T, S, M before the tga I suppose? Just the name of the file?

However you’d ordinarily do it with the @customize portrait command.
Hir yw'r dydd a hir yw'r nos, a hir yw aros Arawn.

@disguise set portrait <portrait> - This does not work
@customize portrait <portrait> gives that error I mentioned earlier << This command can not be used while a PC is disguised. >>

@disguise setportrait <portrait> also doesn't work
@disguise portrait <portrait> also doesn't work

From my earlier testing in the OOC hall ^
Will try soon in an IC zone too and edit accordingly!

Edit: It doesn't work in an IC zone either

Are you using the <> characters when entering the portrait name?

Was curious about this as well. Does anyone have a sample command with <portrait> filled in that works?

I've played around with this and haven't found anything that works. ATM it seems like a big flag now that there's a downloadable portrait pack.

So, the portrait command for diguises still not working? I'm usually on disguise all the time, would be nice to have something different than the bald random dude... (blank portrait)

It is working actually, so that tone and comment are both uncalled for.

The only way I know of getting a portrait to work while disguised, is to have its name (- the H/L/M/S/T) in the description section with no other text..

E.G Description: "_knight_" would work for adding the "_knight_H/L/M/S/T" portrait, but adding anything else before or afterwards stops it working.

If there is a command to set the portrait seperately, please can it be added to the in game '@disguise help' command, as currently that does not mention how to set portraits at all.

Mhhh, I'm not sure what tone you refer to? While using the commands for the disguise skill, there is no refference under the "disguise help" about setting a portrait. Everyone in here is implying than the command is not working, so from time to time I ask again if is finally working... So I don't see why my question was dimmed as "uncalled" and it was also implied I asked it with a certain "tone". As I understand... if the portrait command "disguise set portrait" would work now, that would be under the commands in the "disguise help". Could you please be more clear why the tone and my question is uncalled for, and if this command now works how to properly use it? Should also be used in the Hall area or an OOC area? Thanks in advance and best regards. Any clarification is more than welcomed :)

Hi, if I understand correctly, under the description for the disguise, If I write the name of the portrait it adds it? but I shoudn't write anything else? that's how it works? Does this means that If I set a portrait I cannot have a description of what people see while I'm on disguise? Thanks !

Example: Say I'd normally set my portrait as @portrait set Picture_ (or whatever the command is). To set it for your disguise for "Bob", under the current system, you would do:

@disguise set name Bob
@disguise set description Picture_
@disguise save 1

The feedback will say that both the description and portrait are "Picture_".

I believe it's been said that the issue will be fixed in the next update or something like that.

As far as I can tell this still isn't working after the recent update. The feedback is more complete but appears to save the portrait as the disguise still, and then when applying the disguise it displays the portrait as empty.
