Not entirely sure if this is a bug, but it seems likely. I cast damning darkness, which should do a maximum of 4d6 to someone good aligned. In three rounds, it did 8, then 48, then 24 damage. Two are in line with what is possible, but unless the spell somehow criticals, it should not have been able to do 48. Also, they are all multiples of 8, which is odd but not impossible, so just noting it.
