Way to turn off Rain&Snow ?

I seriously have problem with Rain and Snow effect  all weather effect my frame rate drop massively been playing here for ages and never have problem with older machine, but now my gtx 1060 cannot handle snow or rain effect on this 20 years old game.  It is horrible run everything on low graphic does not help the rain or snow effect too much for my machine,

I think it is actually a new issue with Enhanced Edition. I never had that problem before, but now, God forbid it should rain or snow on my screen, I can't do anything. I apologize that I do not have a solution.

Not just your machine. Definitely a game problem.

Restarting your entire game can help, as long as you restart while you're in the problematic zone. That is, of course, not always (or often) a realistic response. I encounter the same thing in areas with intense particle effects (mists are fine) - even areas with the green-dripping trees.

I have a 1080, 16 gigs of ram, and a monstrous processor, so it's definitely a game issue. Here's hoping the upcoming update has it fixed.
