A misplaced parcel
« on: December 26, 2019, 04:15:18 PM »
Quite a number of months ago a parcel was delivered to Theatre de la Cathedrale, titled 'For the  attention of Verinne Von Haute (for safekeeping)', but has been misplaced somewhere in the theatre without ever reaching its intended recipient.

Should anyone find and open it, they would discover that it contains a certain number of paintings, among them:

A bright blue butterfly appearing out of the embers of a burning book, marked on the back 'To Yunon Ambrosius - may your travels take you to brighter realms, dear friend.'

A beautiful lady playing a violin, with a recognizable resemblance to Verinne van Haute, against a background of stars, with music visualized as strands of light or magic coming from her instrument. Written on the reverse is - 'Thank you for all the beauty!'

A phoenix rising from the ashes, phasing into a larger being the higher it rises against a night sky. Written on the back 'For M. - may your fire burn ever bright, dear one.'

A symbolic composition, with a large sun in the top right corner and a kneeling person on the bottom left, separated from it by darkness, sharp thorns and a river of dark mist. Written on the reverse - 'To Iridni.

To find the origin, trace back the manifestations.
When you recognize the children and find the mother,
you will be free of sorrow.

If you close your mind in judgements and traffic with desires,
your heart will be troubled.
If you keep your mind from judging and aren't led by the senses,
your heart will find peace.

Seeing into darkness is clarity. Knowing how to yield is strength.
Use your own light and return to the source of light.
This is called practicing eternity.

Her fingertips trailed along the spine of the plays on the shelf in the theater basement before finding the work she sought.  She taps it once in success then pulls it from the others, moving around to a quiet corner to open the pages.  It was then that she noticed the parcel, and its label.  With a pensive expression, she gathers it up - fingertips smoothing across the label.  It leaves the theater with her.
