The Devil Strahd and his many lickspittles desire nothing more than to make of you slaves. Not subjects, but slaves. Obsequious. Meek. Submissive. Be you native or outlander, Barovian or Gundarakite, know this: the rule of this land and those who execute his will at his behest see you as nothing more than a source of labor and taxes, to be exploited and then discarded when you are of no further use.

It is time for the shackles to be sundered, for the boot placed firmly upon our backs to be lifted off.
