NWN Toolset crashes on area load

(1/2) > >>

SardineTheAncestor:
I was playing around with the NWN toolset a while ago because level editors are my thing, and I managed to build a couple areas while familiarising myself with the controls. This was months ago. Now, I wanted to revisit them, but I can't, because the toolset crashes as soon as the area loads, even though I can run the areas in the game just fine.

I tried the solutions suggested here:
https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/67727/toolset-crashes-upon-area-load

But none of them worked. Even trying to create entirely new areas in entirely new modules causes a crash.

I haven't installed any additional content on my game, so I'm guessing an update broke the toolset on my end. Has anyone ever run into this before? Any advice on getting it to work again?

Philos:
The newer NVIDIA drivers will crash on area load in the tool set. I rolled mine ack to a version from February which seems to be stable.

Lightweaver:
Head on over to the Nivida Control Panel and set Thread Optimization to Off and it ought to work.

SardineTheAncestor:
Thanks, that did the trick. I'm guessing the new drivers included that feature in some programs where it wouldn't be welcome. Much appreciated.

EO:
Alternatively you can get the latest version of the toolset on the Beamdog forums. It should be included in the next stable update but it fixes that crashing issue.
