Ghosts and locked doors
« on: August 14, 2019, 02:47:18 PM »
At some point, there was a change (as far as I am aware and in my own experience) that allowed ghosts to go through door transitions without opening doors. However:

Where: Any locked door that a character has a key to.

When: Activating a locked door.

What: When a ghost activates a locked door for which they have a key, the ghost will go through the transition, and the door will be left open.

As an aside, with this change, are ghosts now able to phase through any doors? If so, then it may also be a bug that a ghost cannot pass through locked doors for which they do *not* have a key.
Me miserable! which way shall I fly
Infinite wrath and infinite despair?
Which way I fly is hell; myself am hell;
And in the lowest deep a lower deep,
Still threatíning to devour me, opens wide,
To which the hell I suffer seems a heaven.

In my experience using ethereal jaunt, rather than as a spirit, the behavior depends on individual doors and gates.

Some doors are left open behind me.

Gates tend to let me pass through unaffected.

If I have a key to a door, it tends to unlock the door, although the door may remain closed.

Occasionally, I can't pass through at all.

I haven't tried to use it on locked doors that I don't have keys for because I assume (if it worked) that would be an exploit :)

My windows cracked, but they can be replaced.
Your arm will tire throwing stones my way.
