Undead shouldn't be unaffected by the slow of Acid fog.
« on: August 01, 2019, 12:01:37 AM »
Quote
The following spells with fortitude saves have been changed not to affect undead (including MPCs):

Acid fog - still does acid damage, but undead are immune to the slowing effect

I do not understand under what consideration Undead should be immune to the slowing effect. Acid fog slows down targets for the sole reason that the fog itself is solidified and makes moving inside it really hard, it is a physical impediment, not a mental one or a negative energy one. So I am just genuinely curious as to the reason why this modification was implemented.

Found it :)

But I think that's out of date because currently acid fog does not have a saving throw:

Indeed, but since in most spells it was stated the changes when they were applied (Like: "No longer does `X` or `Y`") I thought it was still working that way.

If there is a source on your claim as to why the spells slows, I would like to see it? This is no attack, if it's in the rules it's in the rules.

It's just that realistically it would have to be a light liquid to slow you by that much just because of it's mass, not a fog.

So intuitively, I always assumed it just slowed you because of the pain in your lungs, eyes and on your skin rubbing against acid soaked cloth.

The spell appears to have been updated at a later date https://www.nwnravenloft.com/forum/index.php?topic=2173.msg452265#msg452265

I don't have a pc to test but think it likely it affects undead

I tried to test it out with some huecuvas and I do not believe they were slowed at all.

Then IMO at least that's a bug.

The original justification from your quote was that they were made immune because of the Fortitude Save. Per the later change to the spell that removed the Fort Save, their immunity should also be removed.

Undead aren't immune to the slow effect of Acid Fog right now.

Then I guess that solves the thread and should be closed. Thanks!
