Dear fellow Prisoners of the Mist,

As you know, the server is made through voluntary effort alone, and as such, our priorities will always ultimately be determined by where we find our passions and inspiration. Nonetheless, we still also want to provide content that gives you the best conditions for roleplay and overall experience - for that constitutes a major part of our passion for this project too.

Since it's been nearly five years since we last conducted a similar poll and to be sure to be in sync with this, we've made this very generic poll to give us a clue on where the demand is greatest now. It is not something we will consider ourselves obliged to follow, but we do want to know your thoughts on this, if nothing else then to inspire our future development, and to prevent we dedicate ourselves on things due to misunderstood needs.

If you feel any options are missing, feel free to post below and we'll consider whether to include them.

Thanks!

More player initiative features would be nice too.

Considering creatures despawn with areas, is modifying bosses to have different phases via OnHeartbeat or OnDamaged script a viable way to add flavour to them quickly without using up a lot of system resources?

Can hash up the Aribeth code from chap4 to have most of the code written down and introduce things like teleporting, toggled immortality & non-hostility when near death for a final speech, called in reinforcements etc.

Or have the vampires in certain caves turn to mist from the XP2 chap2 code so players learn how to kill by staking before they encounter an AMPC vampire. Feels like itd be quick (relatively) to implement when a lot of code is prewritten, aside from rewriting to make it more efficient.

Werewolves that leave lootable human NPC corpses behind (as that's what they should revert to) with a despawn timer could be nice too.

Even if it was just one-liner dialogue at random from a list at certain HP intervals would make the enemies we fight without DM oversight have more character.

Make it so wizards can craft scrolls! (but maybe make them worth less to sell?)

For various reasons this will never ever happen.

Bring the Merchant's Pride Warehouse in the Village of Barovia to life:  make it a location for storing & claiming items.  That town has nearly all crafting facilities available, but it's a brutal hike to get anywhere to put it in storage.

Please put the male/female coloring mannequins in strategic locations around the world.  Dyes are just generally a bear to select/work with in game.

Repeated IC requests for craftable items I hear that just don't seem to exist in game: cloaks, belts, hats, hoods, hide-lineable helmets, slings, shuriken and other more exotic weaponry.

For the tailoring profession: make cotton and linen a little more useful.  As it stands, cotton & linen garments are basically the equivalent of dousing yourself in gasoline and waiting for someone to throw a match at you.  Sadly, they serve no real purpose and consequently never really see the light of day.

Currently Playing:
Conner o'Clan Cunningham, Cando Weaselbite

On the sidelines but ready for action:
Tychon Corynian, Bjarna Blitzthorn, Remo Fenberry, Yerrith Greenstone, Gryllus Athens, Pristi Feld

I'm surprised nobody else has said it yet, but having this posted is really great to see and encourages us to think our feedback is valued. I'm just glad something like this has been posted even if the things I think are priorities don't get worked on immediately.

I've posted this a few times before in the last couple years, but more blank zones DMs can use would be great. We have some tilesets that are completely unused (icy/frozen ones) or ones that are limited in scope (desert), but we've got four different swamps.

Probably got overlooked in the sheer eagerness, Deceit - I know I had a bit of a heart flutter when this came up.  Choosing only three was hard however!  But it does make me excited for the future.

Well I voted for more RP zones so I think that counts here. I support this btw

Also I support expanding Hazlan and Dementlieu(particularly outside of the Port)  :D

I'd love to see a height slider. Perhapss something limited to +/- 10% with DMs able to change it beyond the limitation at their discretion.

I'd also like to see unique keys put in place for all inn rooms. There are things that have been witnessed that cannot be forgotten. Terrible things.

Bank of Hazlan being actually Bank of Hazlan would be neat.

Red Academy as a supported faction.
I support that, as well as making the Church of the Lawgiver a supported faction. :)

I am curious why. It would be interesting if this was the only way to get/trade scrolls.. A player run market like potions.

Its an outright economy and loot design feature not to do it.  Not least because it would allow high level wizards to get the full spell library simply by abusing relevels and working with another player to just scribe the scrolls and completely ignore the loot method, acquiring a fully completed spellbook in probably a couple of hours at best.  Its utterly exploitable, doesnt take much to see how it could be.
