Death transition and missing gold

Apparently when you die and transition at the same time, the game eats your gold

If you died in Ooze city, it's quite possible the mists shifted in the time it took you to get back to the mist areas, meaning the area you returned to may not have been the original area. That being said, usually when people die on a transition, their gold can be in the previous area, either on the last transition they went through or the previous one.
