EO, in Discord:
Basically look at a regular class (ie Sorc)’s bonus feat progression and add 1 feat at 5, 10, 15, 20
And that’ll give you the wizards new list
Regular classes currently do not get feats at 4th, 7th, 10th, 13th, 16th, and 19th levels.
That's -6 feats.
But wizards are getting a bonus (wizard) feat at 5th, 10th, 15th, and 20th. That's +4.
Which results in a net -2. So as described, wizards are losing two feats. However, if I understand this correctly, it will play out like this, compared to now:
Level 1 to 3, no difference.
Level 4, wizard has 1 fewer feat.
Level 5, wizard is even again because of bonus feat.
Level 6, even.
Level 7 to 12th, down 1 feat. (The wizard loses another feat at 10th, but that is cancelled out by the bonus feat.)
At 13th to 14th, 2 fewer feats than now.
15th, only -1 because of the bonus feat.
16th to 18th, -2.
At 19th...-3 feats!
And then at 20th, back to -2 because of the bonus feat.
Is this how it is going to be implemented?
As a side note, although conventional wisdom is wizards are the strongest class, it occurred to me in trying to figure this out that maybe wizards
intentionally had extra feats because on POTM they don't receive scribe scroll at 1st level? And there are no brew potion or craft wand feats, which would normally be two of the feats that Wizards could use bonus feats for.
