Does Horrid Wilting inflict correct damage?

(1/1)

Iridni Ren:
I was reading this spell's description in multiple sources because of wanting to describe its effects in a bio post. Here is from the POTM wiki:

--- Quote ---You cause all creatures within the area wither, taking 1d8 points of magical damage per caster level, to a maximum of 25d8.
--- End quote ---

Here are two other (3.5) sources:

http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/horridWilting.htm

--- Quote ---This spell evaporates moisture from the body of each subject living creature, dealing 1d6 points of damage per caster level (maximum 20d6). This spell is especially devastating to water elementals and plant creatures, which instead take 1d8 points of damage per caster level (maximum 20d8).
--- End quote ---

The NWN description matches what the Wiki uses, but in general POTM seems to move things toward 3/3.5 DND.

Thanks!

EO:
NwN uses the 3rd edition version, what you're referencing is the 3.5 version. By the way, both those sources are particularly unreliable. d20srd is the official and correct source.

We have no plans to change it at this point.

One of those two sources is d20srd?

Or at least appears to be. If not, can you point to the d20srd you reference, so I can use it in the future?

EO:
Sorry, thought you had referred to that DandDwiki page when I first read it. d20srd is the source you want; the only problem is it's a 3.5 source, so you have to compare with the 3E version to see if NwN implemented it correctly.

Iridni Ren:
Thanks for the clarification.
