no aggro when useing a pistol

iv found that if i sneak up on something and keep my distance i can repeatably shoot at npc enemys with a pistol without them aggroing even if they are in groups. seems like something that can be exploited for xp. if you have trouble recreating it message me and ill try to help out

Imo it's way too costly and time consuming to actually 'exploit' this.
Plus the backfire.
You're getting yourself bamboozled in other words.

I wonder if this is an issue with ranged touch attacks in general, I've thrown varnish at groups of enemies to try get them to come at me at once (because sniping from afar and only one approaching is a bit °_°) and I've had issues attracting their attention immediately this way.

No its just because mechanically you "use item" , not "attack". Crafted traps for example are as well "use item" , not "set trap" action, and those didn't even break your invis. And THIS can be considered an exploit.

Also flintlocks should now pierce damage reduction properly.
