Suggestion: Anti-Accidental Vendor Ability

Add a player ability/command that sets a targeted items value to 0.

Additionally, one that resets it to its base value.

Purely to prevent accidental vendoring of items players wish to keep. Not looking at anyone in particular.

I do wish enchanted gear was worth zero. There may be a mechanical reason it needs to have a value, but every time I cursor over Radiant Servant and see "1 gp," I have nightmares :D

My windows cracked, but they can be replaced.

There's no practical way to do this unfortunately. Setting items to plot would create other issues.

Can "Enchanted" gear, once given that title, be something vendor's don't want to buy? Like mark it as stolen?

How does storage work? Does it change the name, weight and set the value of the item to zero? Or replace it with an entirely different item?

If it does alter the properties of an item, rather than replace it, could part of that script not be used to force a value to zero? Even if it has to be done through an npc? E.g an engraver or something, to mark it as "your own".

Setting value to 0 would interfer with the costs of altering items though. The value of the item determines modification cost, so setting it to 0 (if such can even be done) would make modifications free.

But enchanted items currently have a price of only 1 gold (at least the items I'm familiar with).

So the cost of modifying them would already seem negligible.

That seems incorrect. Last time I changed enchanted gear it cost me tens of thousands...

I haven't ever modified her morning star, so I don't know. But it shows a value of 1 gp when I cursor over it at a vendor's.
