So I kinda feel like its commonplace that throwing weapons feel lackluster, and aren't often (if ever) used on the server. Partly through their lack of variety or usage.
So, as an interesting take on throwing weapons, and to give a nice flavourful option, I present Alchemical Grenades (aka throwing flasks).
I have a test module that emulates some of these ideas through the use of darts. They're all very basic, but would serve a purpose IG as a craftable throwing weapon that has uses in different areas.
Stack to 50 as per throwing weapons. Use same icon as Essences. Unsure of what appearance would best suit a flask for throwing model (or if there even is one, having issues with getting haks to work on toolset, thanks steam).
Base Template for Flasks
Base Damage: 1d2
Base Critical Threat: 20/x2
Base Damage Type: Bludgeoning
Weapon Size: Small
Feats Required: Simple, Druid, or Rogue (or perhaps exotic with the Xd4 bonus damages, or extend crit range/damage to match shuriken)
Base Item: Flask
Special Properties:
Extra Ranged Damage: Pierce
Lesser Flasks: 1d4 Elemental
Normal Flasks: 1d6 or 2d4 Elemental (I suggest the Xd4 versions because thrown weapons lack enhancement bonuses, this helps a bit, it also makes them a more specialised weapon)
Greater Flasks: 1d8 or 3d4 Elemental
Freezing Flasks: Cold
Scorching Flasks: Fire
Acidic Flasks: Acid
Negative Flasks: Negative
Magical Flasks: Magical
Etc Flasks: Etc.
Craft option:
Essence + Box of flasks = 50 Throwing flasks
Dart Alternative.
As per Alchemical Arrows, but Darts.
e.g Steel + Alchemical Dart template + Essence = Steel Alchemical Dart x50
Which you may as well throw in normal crafted darts as well.
