Resting Near Enemies
« on: January 21, 2019, 01:10:57 PM »
What: Able to complete a rest with enemies near using bedroll.

Where: Abandoned house and caverns beneath VoB

Details: After adventuring we attempted to rest about half way through. Using a bedroll I assured to rest, it gave the standard "cannot rest when enemies are near", however the rest was completed normally, spells returned and healing received. This was repeated, happened for all others in the party as well.

Yeah, I think EO said this was fixed? Maybe the fix wasn't rolled out in the last update. I've been able to do this too (so decided not to carry around a bedroll at all on my low lvl char cause people have been asking me for mine to do this.)

It was Soren who said he fixed it. I noticed it because I didn't realize that it was considered an exploit and actually did it once right in front of a DM because of not knowing :)

Yeah, which is why I reported it. I did not previously give the enemies near message. Did this time but still allowed the rest.

This should now be fixed. Can anyone test?

This is resolved. Trying to rest using a bedroll near enemies presents the message 'You cannot rest while enemies are nearby' and prevents the rest action.

I never realized that was considered an exploit before since typically resting near enemies provokes them into rushing at you in say a crypt or the forest... live and learn though. So clear out an area first then set up camp? More realistic now for sure.
