Direct connect timeout issue

Hi everyone.

So I've been having this amazing idea of rejoining Ravenloft after a few years away from Neverwinter Nights. I got my game installed, went through How To Get Started section and got the downloads right, then tried the direct connect thingy. Apparently, it finds the server, but the connection gets timed out every single time, both on my client and my girlfriend's. No fancy messages. Just timed out.

My initial guess was, well, perhaps 1.69 patch version isn't right. But then again if patch version was a problem, i found out that is shows a different error message after a failed join attempt.

Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

Welcome back to the server!

It sounds as though you are using the 1.69 version of the client.

Ravenloft: PoTM has migrated to the Enhanced Edition of the game, which you will need to join the server.

Thank you! I actually nad no idea that there is a thing called Enhanced Edition, and is it anything different from Diamond Edition.

So, buying EE and going through downloads again would be enough, or is there any patch I should install on top of this? Or is the patch version something Steam handles?

Buying EE and doing the downloads should do it, patches are handled by Steam.

If you go for the Steam version, you can Subscribe to the core downloads via the Workshop but you may want to download some of the extras.
