The Time for Unity is Now!

Fellow people of Dementlieu, the Hawk once more readies itself to invade our lands, so recently devastated by civil war. The Hawk takes advantage of the fact that our war's wounds have not yet been healed: many of our brothers and sisters fell during the fighting, and we are still divided over the issues which brought the civil war forward in the first place.

Indeed, there are no doubt some who are rubbing their hands with glee at what this Falkovnian invasion might represent: as the Maitriser and the armies of the Covenant retreat East, they will be happy to let the East's power wane. Perhaps they would even be happy to see the forts of the East shattered or seized by the Hawk.

Others will think: let the nobles fight. This, like other wars, is their war; what matter to the common worker or the artisan?

Such notions are foolish: we are all Dementlieuse; however flawed our republic, it is better to be a free Dementlieu citizen than a Falkovnian slave. The Falkovnian doesn't recognise a difference between West and East, between rich and poor, save as a means to exploit our divisions. However, we can defeat the Hawk by standing as one.

Now is the time for unity against a common foe. Now is the time to heal past divides. We must stand together for the good of the republic and the defence against tyranny. Thus the foe will be vanquished.
