Beckon the Elements

Type of Feat: General
Prerequisite: Augment Summoning , Spell Focus (Conjuration).
Specifics: Creatures the character summons are infused with either fire, ice, acid, lightning, positive, or negative energy. Each creature the character conjures with a summon spell gains immunity to the selected energy type and deals an additional 1d6 points of that energy damage on its attacks. Creatures with opposing sub-types of the selected element can never be enhanced in this manner. The feat can only be taken once.
Use: Automatic.

- Replaces Beckon the Frozen to allow for more flavor with energy selection.

Natural Bond

Type of Feat: General
Prerequisite: Ranger 3.
Specifics: You've felt a special synergy with your animal companion since the first encounter. Your animal companion's level is now determined with a +3 bonus, making it equal to a Druid's animal companion.
Use: Automatic.

Special Bond

Type of Feat: General
Prerequisite: Druid 7 or Ranger 10 with Natural Bond.
Specifics: The time spent with your companion has developed a bond that allows you to communicate in ways others can't understand. The character can now "possess" their animal companion like a familiar, but it's not actual possession. The character doesn't see through the eyes of their animal companion and only has more direct control over its actions. Possessed animal companions can't transition to different areas without the character.
Use: Automatic.

Update: Just learned that possession is hard-coded to familiars.

Augment Familiar

Type of Feat: General
Prerequisite: Sorcerer 8 or Wizard 7, Augment Summoning, Lore 10.
Specifics: Through extensive research, you've discovered arcane rituals that have enhanced your familiar. The bonuses from Augment Summoning & Beckon the Frozen (Elements) now apply to your familiar as well as your summons.
Use: Automatic.

Guardian Force

Type of Feat: General
Prerequisite: Lore 20, Special Bond Druid or Ranger with Natural Bond or Augment Familiar.
Specifics: Through either your devotion to nature or unraveling a great mystery of the arcane, you've tapped into the power of a primal force to empower your animal companion or familiar. The creature's level is now determined with a +1 bonus that can go beyond the character's class level.

The creature also takes on a more powerful form if available. If not, the size of the creature increases by one (+2 Str, -2 Dex, loss of Small AC Bonus if applicable), receives an additional +2 to STR, DEX, & CON, a stack-able +1 bonus to Natural AC, and may gain other additional bonuses. If the creature already possessed a combat or spell-like ability, that ability may be improved further. If the creature didn't possess any abilities, it may gain a combat or spell-like ability.

This primal enhancement comes at a blood price to the character. If the animal companion dies, it's Druid or Ranger will suffer damage as if it were a familiar. The lives of Sorcerers and Wizards are now directly tied to their familiars. If one dies, both perish.
Use: Automatic.
