"We shall see how much suffering these little red cords of ours prevents, hm?"
If only that were the case, my broken friend. We wear these things, the faithful of the broken god, to remind ourselves of what we have endured so that it may guide us, steel our hearts and minds. They do not prevent suffering, but remain around me and mine, and we shall take it from you and deliver into eternity to those whom inflict it willingly. The Companions know endurance and kindness, but we do not know mercy to the cruel.
