A young man with dusken skin and untrustworthy angular facial features has been spending his time annoying the locals along the main road with his exclamations about free food he is offering to those who need it. Some say he was accompanied by a woman, but this probably isn’t true. Who would want to talk to a man of such ill repute?

The Morning comes and while usually the Vicar would have made her presence known through the downtrodden of the Vallaki slums, this morning she does not leave the Temple of the Eternal Dawn. In fact, she has not been seen since entering the building the night prior.

Those visiting Rulinus the Ratter's house would find themselves needing to watch their step come morning, the welcome mat and steps leading up covered in a mess of fresh and not-so-fresh dung and the outer walls pelted with the stuff in some frustrated act of scatological vandalism.

During the deep hours of night, a scream of frustration tears out of the Gaping Wound. Some hours later, near the break of dawn, the screams begin again, more numerous in number, though they are only wrought in anguish.

Strange occurrences in Vallaki's slums this night. Unearthly light crept under doors and through the slats of shutters, accompanied by the voices of desperate women. This was night the first night that the lights have disturbed the fitful rest of Vallaki's destitute.. and it may not be the last.

An old face was seen wandering into the Lodge... that of the weathered Chaplain, Audric Lacroix...

Now, we must all fear evil men. But there is another kind of evil which we must fear most, and that is the indifference of good men

A Souragnien woman is seen outside of the hospice in the slums, beside the Prancing Nymph, sweeping away debris and dirt with a broom. When she is thus working, she lights a candle by the door, in lieu of a window, indicating that the hospice is open to all who seek aid. Similarly, she has begun distributing fliers around the municipality of Vallaki.

[Word spreads of an entourage of men and women wearing red and black accompanying a blonde-haired gnome through the snake-like streets and alleyways towards the slums' staple, the perhaps infamous drinking-hole called the Gaping Wound.]

The hospice is alive with activity in the evening, where the volunteers and workers have built a stall and are getting ready to greet any wayward travelers or hungry souls to feed them. The interior, in the evening, is lit, and bustling, with scents of food and spices wafting out from its rickety door.

A Garda returning from the Outskirts fell to an ambush just a walk further into Vallaki. He was swiftly back-stabbed by a warrior made of bones likely animated by dark and foul necromancy, then turned into a solid statue. Guards, Ezrites and citizens all were shocked and powerless at the scene. Moments later the man somehow managed to break free from the curse, going back to his self but he will likely be scarred for the rest of his life.

Recently, come daytime, one of the slums working girls can be found near the Svalich Road, flaunting herself to any passers-by. The barovian looking woman may be a familiar sight to any other local residents in recent months, though rarely quite as brazenly close to the general public bustle. One can only assume she is emboldened by the dulcet jingle of outlander gold...

One layperson of the Morninglord can be seen making more aggressive efforts in the slums as of late, setting up stations for a morning or evening with pots of stew and warm wool clothing. She spends her time speaking with any who might approach, asking after the needs of the community and trying to get to know the people.

"What say you of charity, alms for the beggar man; soup from the ladle - It is a fine thing to say but entirely different to do it. So I say woe is the hearts of men who'd break the hand out stretched hand, or turn over the pot of kindness, plucking from it what little can be turned to ends of power. For in that act alone is true evil."

In the early hour of the morning there was the sound of splintering wood, a door torn from its hinges and bloody murder committed. Turning a once house of healing into a charnel house. Dark figures were seen leaving the scene.

A procession of shadowy figures slinks through the winding alleys of the Vallaki slums. The silence is shattered by sporadic gunfire and the twang of bowstrings as arrows and bullets fly from the darkness. Shouts and bats alike cut through the night air, accompanied by the flash and thunder of black powder. When day finally breaks there is little sign of the combatants.

The familiar raven-haired priestess is again seen often at the Lodge, acting much like a domestic and from time to time welcoming passersby in for tea and scones. Those who remember her from years past might remark that she less and less resembles the youthful girl who first performed such labors. Though her manner remains friendly and kind, the sights and sounds of her rituals and prayers regular, she smiles a touch less, and her face might betray even great sadness...particularly when she thinks no one is looking.

[A note is attached to the guard house door with an Axe]
WE STAND UNITED
We will not be intimidated. For each of us you unjustly slay more will rise. The fires of rage will not be extinguished. Not by the Garda and not by their bounty hunter lapdogs!

[There is a Red Palm and the familiar blue fox head at the bottom of the note]

The Light Carrier Kerdic is seen leaving the Sanctuary of the Coming Dawn twice a day with a young wolf, taking her for walk around the city and into the farmlands, always on a leash. If he is stopped by people he does warn them to be careful and not to pet the wolf without warning, but also attempts to socialise the animal.

Some time after this latest night has fallen, the perhaps familiar owl Sova returns to roost near the Sanctuary of the Morninglord in the slums. The huge owl can be heard hooting outside the windows, taking shelter in nearby attics and abandoned homes. From time to time at night she can be seen swooping at rats and enforcing the slums as her stomping grounds...and thieving whatever little items might be carelessly left outside.

Most nights as of late, the acolyte Florette Patos can be found in the Sanctuary of the Morninglord in the slums, tending to the sanctuary itself and praying near the foot of the statue of the morninglord there between her sobs.

I don't like it here. The people here are awful. They say I am stuck here forever. They call me "Fey-touched" ...

Oh... what I would give to be back in Silverymoon. Does the Lady Alustriel miss me? Let's be honest -- she doesn't even know who I am.  I'll never see her beautiful face again... never shall I cross the Moonbridge.

If only she could see me now. Living in a squat and hunting rats to survive. Still, I cannot give up hope. Surely there must be some way to escape these misty lands...

A young Dawnbringer was seen speaking with the garda in front of the Sanctuary of the Eternal Dawn before going back to an alley behind the temple following a blood trail. the blood on the walls of the Sanctuary of the Eternal dawn is slowly scrubbed off by the young blonde dawnbringer in the rain.

With the recent slew of attacks within the grey city during the evening a member of the cult of the morninglord was seen patrolling the streets and back alleys of the slums. Other than some combat with the usual rats of the evening early in the night her patrol was quiet. As the dawn approached with a tired yawn they returned to and entered  the Sanctuary of the Eternal Dawn.
