Late at night, somewhere near the Gaping Wound tavern, agonized screams broke the silence for several minutes, followed by pained sobbing. It wasn't long before the screaming resumed. When they finally trailed off, hoarse and weak, the uneasy silence of the night returned for good.

That same night, and early in the morning, a small spectacled woman was occasionally spotted stumbling but mostly dragging her way east through the back alleys of the Slums. Face wet with tears, and eyes fierce with determination, she made for a ragged and sorry sight to those few guttersnipes and alley beggars who spotted her. She seemed to be trying to avoid being spotted, stifling her own grunts of pain as she forced herself through sheer will to her eventual destination.

The weary form of Giles Hawkins is seen trudging towards the Kinship Lodge, a mass of wrapped bandages covering his head. Though he is seen entering, curiously, he does not re-appear..

A garda is seen moving around the district erecting signs on the most traveled spots and roads.

An elven Morninglordian dressed in the signature armour and bellbottoms is seen returning from the East. A travelling bag sits around her back. She keeps her head low and her entire demeanour seems to be one of dread and discontent. She enters the Eternal Dawn Sanctuary and isn't seen leaving... appearing to lock herself away from the land itself.

As the Grey City begins to stir under a dismal, equally grey first light of dawn, those stepping outside throughout the slums would meet a curious sight. Carefully placed beside their front doors are packages containing jars of a simple meat stew. The quixotic gesture is far from enough to sate the district's ever-present hunger, but the quantity is large enough to provide a moment's respite from starvation--and, perhaps, even a moment's defiant hope.

Yesterday, some chatting noises might have been heard from the kitchen of Sanctuary of Eternal Dawn. Some outlanders and native people of Vallaki were eating soup, listening to a woman clad in rosy dawn colors, all were having discussion on a charity business. Then at sunset, a song filled the Sanctuary sang by a Barovian peasant with a soothing voice.

A blonde man in Ezrite armor and a flowing green cape is seen gathering up the propaganda notes and books of the Cult of Pazrael. He occasionally dumps his haul into a campfire or brazier fueling the flames.

[Late afternoon, around the curfew bell, a commotion takes place at the slums of Vallaki. A redheaded peasant girl first embraces a man as if meeting an old friend, then proceeds to smack him endlessly on the arm, meanwhile constantly snapping at him for things, while the long-haired man stays quiet, both of Barovian origins. She apparently even threatened to take out her slipper to beat him down, though settled to use her hand. This burst of anger fades with guards approaching the duo, and the girl storming off.]

A chocolate-haired young woman, Olivenka, leaves the Gaping Wound along with of her belongings, quietly refilling the bowls of food and water she has always left out for stray animals. In the coming days new bowls of food and water are found through other parts of the Slums instead.

The lantern outside the Hospice is seen lit once more, and the door unlocked. Healers in residence, and visits allowed during the day.

As dusk draws near, the lantern is doused.

A youth in tattered clothes and armor walks into the slums from the east end of the city. He looks to have crawled out from living in a swamp for a month or two. Striding up with silent steps to the door of the Wayfarers Kinship lodge, he unlocks the door and heads inside with little commotion.

[One of the houses in the slums, downtrodden, where once white curtains with frills decorated past the wooden windows, is now bare of any decorations upon its walls or doors. The only resident seen coming and going, a young peasant girl with striking redhair, does not emerge from within so often anymore, perhaps only weekly appearing to be leaving.]

[Foot-traffic finds the door of one of the houses in the slums, downtrodden. Women and children wearing veils in black, their clothes darkened, sounds of quiet weepings and a husband trying to console a wife. A casket leaves the house soon, the people depart as quick as they've arrived, leaving behind the quiet, sad looking house, now with only one single resident remaining, her auburn hair shrouded beneath a black veil.]

[A group of shady individuals after nightfall seems to have painted various graffiti, more or less obscene on the doors of guards. They also seem to have taken the opportunity to spray-paint the words "Garda Dogs" on the door of the Kinships.]

A group of individuals sweep through the night and a fresh painting of a garda and her dog is seen on the wall of the bounty office looking lovingly at one another. They hold a half-dog, half-man baby between them.

A man garbed in dark armor can be seen walking calmly through the street after the clash of steel was heard in the deep of night.  In his wake the mangled and bloody corpses of bandits and wererats are strewn in the street of Vallaki with a message carved into their flesh, "The Angel Pazrael watches over the streets of Vallaki."
