Applications for certain subraces and prestige classes (PRCs)
« on: November 14, 2006, 05:37:15 AM »
To assure that certain powerful races and classes are picked for their roleplay qualities rather than the abilities they grant, we have an application requirement on them. To be even, fair and as impartial as possible in evaluating these, the applications will be handled by the Community Council, essentially the community own appointed representatives. We realise that we could easily end in a situation where people felt that favoritism decided who were accepted and not, so it will be of the highest priority of your Community Council to make the decision as objective and fair as possible. It's not going to be an overly involving application form either, but just put in place to assure that there's some sort of reason and merit to usage of these certain, often exotic setups. To apply for any of these, please fill out the application form below and send it to any Community Councillor you prefer, and it will be brought before the Council as a group to evaluate.

Resources and applications tips can be found here: Prestige Classes | Subraces

The subraces and classes affected by this are the following:

In an effort to promote a greater understanding of the expectations of the PrC application, the Community Council has updated the guidelines and tips suggestions found here. As well, the word count suggestions on each question of the application have been raised, as you should feel the freedom to write everything that you feel is necessary. We hope that this inspires you to achieve strong, rewarding roleplay as you aim to attain a prestige class.

Hi! Small modifications have been made to the subrace application template for the sake of clarity. Applicants must now indicate their character's setting of origin. Divine spellcasters are required to indicate their religion or belief system, and clerics must confirm their chosen clerical domains.

Some minor changes were made to both applications. We have added a reminder that planetouched races should have a maximum of two unique traits to the subrace application. For PrCs, we now request the level of possessed classes as of the time of the application, and a verification that the PC already meets the prerequisites for the PrC being applied for.

The subrace application has been updated to include the following:

-- Details around starting attributes

-- Specifying the starting class: The Community Council receives a lot of subrace applications showing a list of classes planned for the character's growth, which is fine (there's a separate line for that now), but did not clearly specify the starting class.

-- Optionally, listing out planned classes for the character's growth:  you won't be locked into this - things change as your character dives into the live narrative

These changes will help the CC evaluate applications with less ambiguity!
