I like big books and I can not lie.

I´m not sure if this should be a bug report or a DM request, or both, but let me start from the beginning:


Some time ago I got a wonderful book, The Barovian Herbalist Casebook, from DM Tarokka's last PC Caterina Fumosa, I thought to keep it in the group by making a few copies and selling them. but at the printers in port they asked 1745 to copy, what they said, the 34915 words. I thought this was way to much for a book (for a starting pc) and looked for a alternative/cheaper way to make a few copies.

So when a DM was on, can't remember which one, and I was in Vallaki at the books store, I asked if the npc could make a few copies for me.. long story short: DM said no, go to the printer in port, that's what it's there for. I wanted to get a second opinion from another DM, DM Tarokka of course, but never go around to it.
 
Today someone really wanted a copy, and wanted to pay the coin to make a copy, so I got to the printer to make a copy.
The problem is: I only got half, or less then half, of the book copied!!

First time I made two copies and thought it might have been because I overlooked it was stored, silly me, the second time I got it from the storage and tried again, one copy, same thing happened

So now I'm out 5235 gold and I only have one, I trashed the other two, half book for my troubles. (I have screen shots)



The best solution for me would be if a DM can make a few copies, with a bit of rp to make it IC justified.

Considering it's a book a lot of characters are interested IC, maybe we could split it into two IC tomes?

Obviously not the most important thing ever, just saying.

I checked again to see how much of the book was copied, the first post was based more on a guess, and it seems like only about a quarter was copied.
This would mean, at least, four volumes at a price of 7000 total. so maybe a DM making a bunch of copies would be best.

7000 isn't that much for a book with herbalism recipe if that's what it is. I've seen people selling pages with herbalism recipe for 2k per page, and all the recipe were split on 4 different pages.

If the easiest recipe can be put on a first tome and have harder recipe for each tome. It's not that expensive considering you won't need to buy them all at once. If Arawn had to break the character limits, perhaps splitting the book in 2 or 3 wouldn't be such a bad idea.
